Brisbane performing arts figure charged with child molestation – myGC.com.au

Police have arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted eight boys and men over a 20-year period while working at a performing arts company in Brisbane.

The 41-year-old was charged with 69 offenses including indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault and rape.

It is alleged that the Bridgeman Downs man used his senior position in the performing arts company to sexually assault men aged 12 to 20 from 2001 to 2021.

The eight boys and men were said to have been students or company employees during this time, with offenses said to have taken place at Ferny Hills, New Farm, Carindale, Gaythorne and Stafford.

A second man who also worked with the theater company has been charged.

The 35-year-old Bridgeman Downs man is charged with involvement in the alleged sexual offenses against one of the men.

The arrests follow a thorough investigation, with the establishment of “Operation Uniform Mapper”.

Two properties were raided this morning in Bridgeman Downs and Stafford, where the men were arrested without incident.

The 41-year-old was charged with 69 misdemeanors including child indecency, sexual assault, rape, attempted rape, recordings in violation of privacy, fraud and common assault.

The 35-year-old was charged with six offenses including rape, attempted rape and sexual assault.

Both men are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 5.
