Fort Pierce-April 1, 2022: Indian River State College’s (CIHR) Department of Performing and Visual Arts invites the community to attend two Summer Series shows that are sure to captivate audiences: a memorable musical performance in “Contemporary cabaret” at the McAlpin Theater on June 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. and June 11 at 2 p.m. and the innovative and immersive presentation of Shakespeare, “Macbeth”, at the Kight Center for Emerging Technology on June 24 and 25 at 2 p.m. and June 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.

After last year’s success A ” Dream of a summer night “ the CIHR Department of Performing and Visual Arts announces its second “Summer ShakesPierce” production of Macbeth. This year’s immersive production will take place at the Kight Center for Emerging Technologies (V-Building) at the Massey Campus in Fort Pierce from June 24-25.

One of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies, Macbeth depicts the explosive rise and fall of a Scottish Lord whose political ambition is constantly stoked by his murderous wife. Together they usurp the throne of the Kingdom, only to learn that the witches’ prophecy that heralded their triumph also heralded their fate.

In a unique approach, the CIHR production will be updated as part of 1940s Film Noir and immerse audiences in the thrilling action of the play, including interactive video footage using the Kight Center’s innovative technology . This year’s production once again brings high school and college students together to create an engaging Shakespearean experience.

“A Contemporary Cabaret” will be presented from June 9 to 11. It features bright and colorful musical expressions.
