Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Announces 2022 Performing Arts Season

THE WOODLANDS, TX – In keeping with the venue’s mission to foster new audiences and enhance appreciation for the arts, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is thrilled to announce its 2022 performing arts season, featuring exciting symphonic experiences , family events and more!

The pavilion will kick off the performing arts season with a concert and film on June 16 at The Little Mermaid – Film with Live Orchestra, sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital – The Woodlands! As Disney’s animated classic plays on the large LED screens, the Houston Symphony will perform the Oscar® and Grammy®-winning score from the film live on the main stage. To make the evening even sweeter, free ice cream will be available to customers (while supplies last) when the North Plaza doors open.

On July 27, pay homage to the Beatles with the Houston Symphony on the Classical Mystery Tour. The four musicians may sound like the Beatles, but Classical Mystery Tour is more than just a rock concert. The show features over two dozen Beatles tracks performed exactly as they were originally recorded. Hear “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, experience the beauty of “Yesterday” with acoustic guitar and string quartet, enjoy the classic/rock mix of “I Am the Walrus” and savor the cascading crescendos of “A Day in Life.” From the early days of Beatles music through the solo years, Classical Mystery Tour is the best of The Beatles as you’ve never heard them before.

As “Summer Home” for the Houston Symphony, attendees are sure to be entertained all season long with an exciting lineup of orchestral performances, including Star-Spangled Salute on July 3, A Night on Broadway on July 14 and the annual Hocus Pocus Pops on October 14. .

Mezzanine and lawn seating are free for all performing arts events. Tickets for most performances are $25 for an orchestra seat. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic from home or their favorite restaurant to enjoy at their place or on the hill. Keep in mind that drinks cannot be brought to the Pavilion and picnics must also meet the Pavilion bag size restriction and/or be in their original packaging.
