Ecobank Nigeria to host photography, art and design exhibition – WorldStage

Ecobank Nigeria has concluded its plan to host a Photography, Arts and Design Exhibition (PADE) as part of the activities commemorating this year’s World Photography Day. Usually celebrated on August 19, World Photography Day is an annual worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography.

Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ecobank Nigeria, Jide Sipe said the exhibition was designed by the bank to help showcase the brilliance of Nigerian creativity to the world, saying the 3-day event themed “A Canvas for African Creatives” will be held at its state-of-the-art head office complex, Ecobank Pan African Center (EPAC) on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island from Friday August 19th to Sunday August 21st, 2022.

Mr. Sipe, who mentioned that the general public is invited to attend free of charge, explained that the exhibition is part of the bank’s current strategy as a pan-African bank to maintain its legacy as a leading supporter of the creative industry in the country, noting that it provides a platform to harness and nurture the creativity of the African continent.

He further explained that the event will see an assemblage of creative influencers in the fields of photography, visual arts, vocal and dramatic arts and design, adding that there will also be digital engagement ideas for creatives, a photography contest and social media giveaways, among others.

“At the event, we’re expecting portrait photographers, event photographers, landscape photographers, and virtually anyone with lenses to capture moments and frame memories in time. We’re also expecting creative influencers in visual arts such as painters, calligraphers, designers, make-up artists and basically anyone good with a brush or a pen. that can compose a distinct audiovisual reality. We are in contact with architects, interior designers, graphic designers and basically anyone who likes to bring abstractions to life. There will also be secondary attractions, including games, photo booths , performances, a VR station for kids and 3D virtual art exhibits,” he said.

Mr. Sipe further called on all creatives and influencers to make short videos introducing themselves and themselves on social media.

“We will be holding a competition where people will take pictures or paint a remarkable Nigerian landmark and share their inspiration with us,” he said.

“Entrants must hash their photos or paintings with #Padebyecobank to enter. There will also be a draw on social media to determine who will win the free family photo session during the exhibition. It is open to people who attend the exhibition. It’s a complete package. »
