Seven-year-old Maria Capizzi was chosen by The Stage newspaper to attend Razzamataz for one year, completely free of charge, after an audition process judged by industry professionals.

Founded in 1880, The Stage is a specialized publication in the field of theater and the performing arts, which has worked for several years in association with Razzamataz to offer scholarships to young people who demonstrate “a dynamism, a dedication and natural talent that will help them succeed”. whatever path they choose in life”.

A Razzamataz spokeswoman said: “Each contestant was asked to submit a self-recorded audition of up to two minutes in length showing them performing a musical theater song and dance, street dance , a pop song, a dramatic improvisation or a scripted play.

“The audition was open to both current students and those with no prior training, as the judges were looking for youngsters with raw talent and ambition to embrace the Razzamataz lineup.”

Maria was praised for her performance and the judges were particularly impressed with her creativity, which displayed an element of all three disciplines: singing, dancing and acting.

“We are so proud of every child who participated in the audition process and we commend them for having the courage to give it a shot,” said Samantha Wingfield-Jones, manager of Razzamataz Leighton Buzzard.
