The Marketing Associate, Performing Arts is part of the campaign marketing team and reports to the Marketing Director, Performing Arts. The Campaign Marketing team focuses on delivering ticket, revenue and audience and digital engagement targets for Sydney Opera House Presents (SOHP), resident companies and commercial hirers, and creating of brand equity for Sydney Opera House.

The Marketing Associate plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering innovative campaigns to support Sydney Opera House Presents (SOHP) programming areas of Contemporary Performance (Cabaret, Circus, Contemporary Dance, Musical Theatre, Comedy), Premieres Nations and artist and Development sector.

This position supports the development and management of marketing campaigns that will achieve significant ticket, revenue and engagement goals, resonating with target audiences in Sydney, NSW, Australia and globally. This may include holistic development and execution of small to medium campaigns, supporting the success of major campaign efforts, managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and managing SOH-owned channels.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Advanced qualifications in marketing, arts management, communications or business.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of work experience, preferably in the entertainment and performing arts industries.
  • A broad passion for marketing and the performing arts.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, negotiation, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills, especially experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven track record and success in developing and implementing marketing campaigns with a high degree of customer focus and delivery to business targets.
  • Strong skills in digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office software, website CMS platforms, email platforms, and ideally online project or task management platforms .
