While many live arts events have been canceled over the past year and now in the new one, the Kimberley Arts Council / Center 64 continues to bring the arts to our community.
The gallery opening on January 5, 2021 is ‘COVID-19 Unframed’. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., mask required. If you are not comfortable going to the gallery, you can view the exhibition online at kimberleyarts.com
Local artists also offer workshops on Zoom and other media.
On January 8 and 22, 2021, enjoy the Family Art Afternoons with Julie Liu. The whole family can learn to draw animals using circles and ovals. All you need is a good internet connection and a computer with microphone and camera. [email protected] for more information and to register.
Kimberley artist Caprice Hogg is also launching an online Zoom lecture series in January. The first one-hour lecture will focus on color theory and demonstrate color mixing. Hogg’s recommended color scheme and reading suggestions are included in the price. The course will be recorded and the link will be emailed to students for them to review at their leisure. The conference will take place on Saturday January 16 at 1 p.m. via Zoom. Register on kimberleyarts.com
