Penrith Performing and Visual Arts Launches New Online Arts Program, Keep Heart Penrith

Penrith Performing & Visual Arts is at the heart of a deeply human organization; with a multifaceted connection to the arts at its heart. Audiences around the world are shocked by the many changes and challenges facing the world of the arts on a global scale. The newspapers are wiped up; gatherings and events are gone – for now.

The new Keep Heart Penrith online program offered by Penrith Performing and Visual Arts will help guide the public and the community to the new world of the arts transformed through Creative Care Packs; a series of arts-based content and learning delivered to your email address.

As part of Keep Heart Penrith, Creative Care Packs will bring a balanced collection of the latest and greatest in art content.

The best of live entertainment, virtual trips to the best museums and exhibitions in the world, as well as fun and creative activities to try at home or with family. The packs also include information with members and staff of the Gallery, Q, Joan or Con team, information about the collection, as well as instructions and writing exercises. There is also a From the Archives section – a collection of information on the history of Penrith creation, including the legacy of the Q Theater, the Joan and Penrith Regional Gallery.

Penrith Conservatorium, Q Theater and Penrith Regional Gallery have all moved to online operation with exhibitions, creative projects, workshops, private lessons and ensemble classes now accessible from the home computer. Please see below for details.


Starting in the second term, all Penrith Conservatorium private music lessons and ensembles will be offered online until the doors reopen. Music teachers will deliver lessons using Zoom, Skype or Facetime so that students can enjoy tailor-made private music lessons from the comfort of their own homes. Studio Q now operates online under the name Stage Door; an online theater and performance training program designed to be delivered online through Zoom and Google Classrooms. Participants should have access to a computer, a stable internet connection, and a room where they can move around and make sound. This series includes a variety of workshops suitable for ages 5-18 and all skill levels and needs.

Q Theater is also inviting local singers and string players to join in the free online performance of “All Might” – a song from a new musical that attendees will be invited to rehearse at home and submit to our team ! The Penrith Regional Gallery currently offers free online art activities for all ages. The activities consist of self-guided learning for participants, including annotated narrated drawings, blindfolded activities, sensory activities, art games, coloring and Easter themed activities.
