Performance halls of the capital region help Ukraine

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – The Capital Region Arts Restart Coalition has come together in response to the dire situation in Ukraine to assess how the region’s arts community can help. They have created an outreach and fundraising plan for humanitarian relief, with contributions scheduled for March 24-27.

During these dates, each venue in the Capital Region will contribute in its own way, whether by donating a portion of the proceeds, fundraising in their halls, fundraising online or through other means. . At the end of the fundraising period, sites will come together to donate all funds raised to Razom for the Ukraine Emergency Response Initiative. Razom means “together” in Ukrainian, and the organization provided essential medical supplies and aid to Ukrainians in need.

“Despite the challenges faced by the local non-profit arts community over the past two years, we feel called to do all we can to help support the people of Ukraine during these difficult times and to give our audience the ability to do the same,” said coalition officials. “As artists, we value and wish to promote peace, freedom and democracy through our work on and off stage. With that in mind, we invite and encourage customers to join us this month in supporting Razom’s mission to come together for Ukraine during these trying times. »
