Santander Arena and Santander Performing Arts Center, managed by ASM Global, concluded a historic 20th anniversary season with record positions in Pollstar’s quarterly world rankings based on ticket sales.
The community’s continued enthusiasm for the return to live events was reflected in Pollstar’s Q2 2022 Global Rankings, as Santander Performing Arts Center ranked a record 62nd among theaters and that the Santander Arena took the 104th place among the bullrings.
Excluding international venues and considering only venues located in the United States, Santander Performing Arts Center ranked 54th and Santander Arena ranked 79th. These rankings put the two sites first among other local Pennsylvania sites of similar capacity.
David Farrar, Managing Director, spoke of the venue’s continued success in 2022, saying: “We’ve brought a lot of great content to both venues, but more importantly Reading, Lancaster and beyond have bought into what we’re doing. here downtown. We’ve seen a lot of new faces over the past six months walk through our doors and a lot of fans who have returned for multiple events. Increased community interest in our events has helped us bring more entertainment to Reading than ever before. Our promoter partners and the support of the BCCCA have also been essential in helping us succeed since our reopening in August 2021.”
Summer remains busy at both venues, with Dreamcatcher, the region’s first K-Pop show produced by SLP Concerts, kicking off Friday night. Comedy fans will be treated to an appearance by Joe Gatto at the Santander Performing Arts Center on July 10. And the Santander Arena will host three rock shows in August: Papa Roach and Falling in Reverse on August 2, Three Days Grace on August 3. and A Day to Remember on August 6.
