In the KQEN Business Spotlight:
Roseburg’s only dry cleaning company has announced its decision to close.
A sign at Linen Services Dry Cleaning on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard said their company’s dry cleaning division would cease operations effective October 29. Tuesday was the last day customers could drop off items requiring dry cleaning.
The sign indicates that in the current climate, their activity has declined considerably while operating costs have continued to rise. He said: “Like many other businesses in our region, it has been increasingly difficult to fill vacancies as well as having difficulty finding and sourcing due to supply chain disruptions. supply and the dramatic increase in prices. Over the past year we have continued to operate with a significant loss and cannot continue to do so. Our only reasonable option is to close.
The current staff will be transferred to the commercial division of the company. Customers are requested to collect their orders before the store closes. The company said it would arrange for the remaining items to be picked up at another location until December 30.
The sign ended by saying: “It has been a pleasure to serve you and regret that the circumstances make this difficult decision necessary”.
Mike and Jodi Fassler took over old Ken’s Dry Cleaning in 2018. The store had been in business since the 1950s. Linen Services’ business location is on Northeast Aviation Drive and specializes in medical linen.
Management Assistant Autumn David from the City of Roseburg handles business licensing. David told News Radio 1240 KQEN that she could not find any evidence of another dry cleaner in the area.
