Details: The Ormond Memorial Art Museum‘s Free Family Art Evening is returning to an in-person format at a new location as the museum is under construction. Adults accompanied by their children or grandchildren can come and create an “April Showers” artistic project in mixed media and watercolor. The project will be taught by Linda King, OMAM staff member and local art teacher. All art supplies are provided. Face coverings will be required indoors. Herbie’s 53rd Anniversary Car Show

Details: Herbie the Love Bug turns 53 and celebrates with a Volkswagen Bug car show in the Tanger Outlets north parking lot. Activities include a 50s-style band, food, vendors and more. Free event.

Alborea Dances presents ‘Phantom – A Flamenco Story’

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. US. 1

Details: Based on the novel “The Phantom of the Opera” by Gaston Leroux, and inspired by the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber, see an interpretation of the love between the Phantom and Christine through flamenco. The Flamenco Alborea dance company combines flamenco with modern rhythms, passion and innovation to produce a contemporary form of traditional Spanish dance. Tickets are $30. National Poetry Month Festival

When: 1-3:30 p.m.

Details: Join the public or take part in this poetry festival, co-sponsored by the Creative Happiness Institute, Ormond MainStreet, Ormond Beach Arts District, Tomoka Poets and Live Poets. Moms, Pops and Folks — Spring Choral Concert

Details: The Daytona Beach Choral Society will present a fun program of familiar folk tunes, musicals, pop favorites and TV show themes. A donation of $10 is suggested.

Happy Easter

Ormond Beach Art Guild Exhibition and Reception

When: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: Local artists will exhibit their works at the Ormond Beach Art Guild Spring 2022 Exhibition, which runs April 4-28. The opening reception will include a light meal, wine and bottled water. Marian Devore, pianist and member of the Ormond Beach Art Guild will provide the music. Free and open to the public.

Seated fitness classes

When: 11 a.m. some Mondays, starting April 4; 3:30 p.m. some Tuesdays, starting April 5

Where: Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.

Details: The library offers two programs for adults who prefer to exercise while seated. Select Mondays, staff will lead “Sit and Be Fit” classes, which focus on stretching and strengthening exercises. Select Tuesdays, Certified Yoga Instructor Carol Jones will offer a gentle chair yoga practice. The seats are limited. All fitness levels are welcome. Free and registrations are not required.
