Upcoming SMC Performing Arts Events Should Shine

The Performing Arts Department at Saint Mary’s College is offering an incredible range of wonderful events in the coming weeks, starting with the Free Student Recital Series on Wednesdays, October 19 and November 2 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the SMC chapel. . The Student Recital Series is a collection of beautiful instrumental and vocal recitals featuring wonderful and talented student musicians. They feature vocal, piano, guitar, flute, cello, drums, saxophone, trumpet and violin works by well-known composers. Please bring your own mask. The Jazz Singers’ Free Performance at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19 at the Museum of Art Patio will provide an unmissable evening filled with jazz classics that are both lively and soulful, and if you like jazzy percussion and catchy tunes, join the Jazz Band at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27 at the 1928 Pub on campus for the free concert.

The Department of Performing Arts and Ballet Folklorico Guadalupano (BFG) will also host a Doa de los Muertos dance concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 28 at the Soda Center. Special guests will include Conceptos Entidad Dancistica from Edinburgh, Texas, and Danza Azteca Xiuhtecuhtli based in Sacramento, CA. Members of the public are encouraged to bring a copy of a photo of a loved one who has come to the altar. Online Tickets: $5 Students, $8 Faculty/Staff, $10 General Admission:
